I dont see any folders when browsing Windows 10 over my network

Once you have successfully connected to Windows 10, your list of shares appears. If you don't see any, check for the following problems.

Not Shared

You might not have shared a folder yet. If not follow our simple guide on how to share a folder in Windows 10.

No Admin Shares

Admin Shares usually have a name with a $ at the end, but FileBrowser will show these as drive letters, such as C:, D: etc. You may need to enable Admin Share viewing in FileBrowser.

  1. Tap to connect to your Windows 10 PC using FileBrowser.
  2. Tap the folder sort icon on the Toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
  3. In the popup window, tap "More..." in the top left
  4. Switch on:
    • Show Admin Shares
  5. Tap the Refresh icon at the bottom of the screen.

No Permissions to See Shares

Windows 10 may not allow you to see all the available shares. In this case you need to add a share name to the list manually, using the following steps in FileBrowser:

  1. Tap your Windows 10 connection from FileBrowser's home screen.

  2. After it's connected tap 'Add Share' in the top right of the screen.

  3. Enter the name of the share.

  4. You may append a path to the share name if you need to jump straight to a particular folder, for example: MyShareName/Path1/Path2

  5. Finally tap 'Add'.
